World Landmarks Games

World landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower, Egyptian pyramids and the Great Wall of China are renowned tourist destinations. In addition to the Discovery Channel's exploration of these landmarks, they have appeared in everything from playing cards to postcards to games. Even a child can recognize some of these landmarks by just looking at them.
  1. World Landmarks Quiz

    • A simple quiz (see References for link to actual quiz) of where some famous landmarks are located may sound harder than it seems. There are 10 questions with four answer alternatives, of which one is the correct response. You may recognize that the Great Wall is in the country of China, but you may have a more difficult time of telling where the Royal Mile is located.

    Monopoly: Here and Now

    • Monopoly has been reinvented from a traditional game into a game of the 21st century. Spaces such as Baltic and Boardwalk are replaced by London and the pyramids in Egypt. You also do not play with hundreds, but rather millions of dollars. The traditional game mechanics remain unchanged. You still try to beat your opponents by having a "monopoly" of the world.

    Around the World Trivia

    • Knowledge of the existence of world landmarks is simply not enough. You must also know why they exist. For example, the Great Wall of China was built to prevent invaders from the north from attacking. Test your knowledge with a trivia test (see References for link to test). You may find that the reasons why some of the world landmarks were built are very interesting.
