Bubble Wand Scavenger Hunt
A bubble wand scavenger hunt is ideal as a team party game, but can be played with as few as two girls. Give each team a dish containing bubble solution. Pour bubble solution into long, flat containers, such as 13-inch-by-9-inch casserole dishes or brownie pans. Set these in a row in the yard. Designate one of the girls or an adult to judge. Tell each team they must find 10 items that will fit into the container of bubble solution and will produce bubbles. The items can be anything; an empty berry basket, a cookie cutter--even a couple of twisted together pipe cleaners. Anything counts as long as the item will produce bubbles to the judge's satisfaction. When the judge OKs an item, it is added to the team's list. The first team to find ten items that produce bubbles is the winner.
Bubble Painting Race
A bubble painting race is a messy, competitive game that produces a work of art that girls can take home for a keepsake. Line up three, 6-ounce, clear, plastic, disposable drink cups for each girl. Carefully place these on the ground on a driveway or patio. If you are concerned about stains, cover the play area with plastic sheeting and make sure the girls are wearing old clothes. Fill each cup half full with bubble solution and add five drops of red food coloring to one of the cups. Add five drops of yellow coloring to the next cup and five drops of blue coloring to the last cup. Place a bubble wand in each cup. Lay a 9-by-12-inch sheet of white card stock on the ground in front of each player. On an adult's signal, a whistle or shout of the word "go," girls blow bubbles onto their card stock so that the bubbles pop and leave an imprint. The girls must use all three colors and the paint must cover the entire surface. Contestants may either leave the card stock on the ground to paint it with bubbles or lift it in front of them with one hand and blow through the wand in the other hand. The first girl to fill the card with bubble-popped paint is the winner.
