Beyblade Types
There are four types of Beyblade: Attack, Defense, Stamina and Balance. Attack blades are made for aggression. They must win quickly if they are to succeed, as they have little stamina. They are most suitable against Stamina blades. Defense blades are heavy, and are designed to take and deflect hits and counter attack. They are most effective against Attack blades. Stamina blades will outspin all the other types, but they are lightweight. They are best against Defense blades. Finally Balance blades are a little bit of each of the other three. This makes them a good all-around blade, but they will struggle against specialist blades, since they have no outstanding strength. Vary your blade types and customize them to change the balance of your match.
Beystadium
Different stadiums present different tactical challenges. The Cyber Dragoon stadium has bumps around the center of the arena, which affect the spin of your blade. When battling in this stadium, Stamina-style blades will help you last long enough to knock your opponent out. The Engine Gear stadium has no pockets, and blades must be forced through swinging doors to be ejected. Battles in this stadium can be much faster, as contact is high. Attack blades would be very effective here. The Japanese Super Beystadium has large gaps in the perimeter through which your blades can easily fall. A controlled launch is essential in this stadium, as your blade could be lost before a true battle has begun. Try a Defense blade and let it sit in the middle and counter-attack.
Launch
The launch is a key part of all Beybattles. Of the two launchers available, Light and Bey Launchers, the Bey launcher is the more powerful, creating a faster blade, while the Light Launcher is easier to aim. The speed and angle of your launch will depend on your blade. Attack-minded players need as fast a launch as possible, which the Bey Launcher can offer. Don̵7;t just launch horizontally; try different angles against different types of blades and see what best works for you. Combine it with a launcher grip and your aim will improve as well. For Defense blades, positioning is all-important, especially if against the attack type. Use the Light Launcher to aim for the middle to ensure you can use what speed you have to stay spinning, rather than tearing around the arena. A grip will help steady your hand and give you a little more speed from the launch. Stamina blades should use the Bey Launcher to get as much spin as they can. Combine it with the launcher grip to provide some stability. You don̵7;t want it to move as much as an attack blade, but it needs to stay out of harm̵7;s way.
