Basketball Games
Kids don't have to wait for good weather to go outside and play basketball. Instead, they can play with a basketball net mounted to the wall inside their homes. Some basketball nets need to be screwed into a door or a wall. Others can attach using double-sided tape or a hinge that hangs over the top of a door within in the home. Children can then shoot baskets using a small Nerf or rubber basketball. Just be sure to remove your breakables from the playing area.
Dartboards
There are a variety of dartboards on the market. Some of these use traditional metal-spiked darts that penetrate the dart board. Others are plastic tipped darts with specialized boards designed with small holes for the dart tip to fit into. For young children who you don't want playing with pointed tips on the darts, there are suction cup darts that can be thrown or shot out of a toy gun. Dart games range from traditional ones with 20-point scoring areas along with rings to double and triple the score, to games with specific targets to be hit.
Magnetic Games
Magnetic games can be hung on the wall for one or multiple children to play at once. They range from artistic to puzzle games. Some magnetic games allow children to decorate pictures using colored magnetic filings that can be dragged into place using a magnetic pen, where they remain until the toy is shaken or a lever is pushed to release the filings to the bottom. Other magnetic games involve trying to move an object from one location to another, using a magnetic pen.
Sports Games
Kids can play a wall-hanging game similar to pin the tail on the donkey but using a sports theme. One version of this game involves using a poster board with a field goal post drawn on the board and players trying to place footballs inside of the uprights when blindfolded. Each football placed between the uprights scores three points. This can also be done with baseballs, with a strike zone drawn on the board. Every baseball placed within the strike zone scores a point.
Beanbag Games
Beanbag games allow children to display their ability to hit a target. A game board hangs from the wall with circular pockets that children try to throw the bean bags into. Each target can represent a different point value and the child with the most points wins. Another version is bean bag tic-tac-toe. In bean bag tic-tac-toe there are nine targets placed in a three-by-three grid. Players take turns throwing colored bean bags, trying to get three in a row of their own color in the targets on the game board.
