Balloon Volleyball
Help guests cool off on a hot summer day with a fun game of balloon volleyball. Kids or adults enjoy this wet activity that amuses everyone. The activity requires an open area, a rope to mark the net line and water balloons. Players split into two teams and use the balloons as the ball. Each time a balloon breaks, the team receiving the “ball” loses points.
Frisbee
A simple game of Frisbee is a fun way to get your heart pumping. However, throwing the disc around a circle of people can quickly become boring. Spice up the game by throwing a disc golf tournament. Disc golf requires a large open area with assorted “holes,” such as a specific tree trunk as hole one and a specific bush as hole two. Players follow the course of holes and keep score of how many times they have to throw the Frisbee to hit the mark. The player with the lowest score wins.
Hopscotch
Hopscotch is a classic kids' game that requires nothing more than a piece of chalk and a pebble. The game requires a grid with alternating one and two square lines that each player hops down to retrieve the pebble. An adult party can also enjoy a game of hopscotch. Instead of a pebble, a shot of alcohol sits at the end of the grid. Each player must hop down the grid, take a shot and hop back to the starting point.
Tug-of-War
Tug-of-war is a versatile and easy game that kids or adults can play at home or at a campground. The activity requires a sturdy rope, thick for adults and semi-thick for kids, with small knots tied across the length to provide hand holds. A line across an open area marks each team territory. Players split into two teams, grab the rope and try to pull the other team over the line.
Tug-of-war for kids works best when only two teams play, which helps reduce possible injuries. For adult games, you can use multiple teams. For a three-team tug-of-war, the rope ties into a circle and lies on the ground in a triangle shape. Each team grabs a corner of the triangle and pulls until the other two teams cross the territory lines.
