Fun Games for Adult Groups

When you look back you may remember the fun you had as a child at yours or your friends&' parties. It may make you want to go back to those times, but perhaps Pin the Tale on the Donkey or Musical Chairs feels a little childish to you. Then you need to try to upgrade the fun by coming up with a more adult-themed, intellectual game or two to play with your friends.
  1. Back in Bowl

    • Give each player three small scraps of paper, on which they must write the names of three famous people. These scraps of paper are then folded and placed in a bowl. Everyone now must split into equal teams. The bowl is passed around with each team being given 60 seconds to pick and describe as many of the names from the bowl as possible. If the rest of the team guesses correctly they keep the paper and earn a point. If the team cannot guess or the describer wants to move on, the paper goes back in the bowl. The bowl carries on circulating until all the names have been guessed. The winning team is the team with the highest score.

    Who&'s the Murderer?

    • Select from a deck of cards one card to be the murderer and one the detective, making sure the group knows which card means which. Now deal a card to all the players face down, letting them check but not reveal their card. The person who gets the detective card turns it over, and it is their job to figure out who has the murderer card. The murderer has to try and wink at the other players without being noticed to signal them to be a victim. The detective is given three guesses to try and unmask the murderer.

    Who am I

    • Pick a theme--for example, film stars, artists, athletes. Write on cards the names of famous people who fit that theme and have someone write one for yourself. Stick a name card to the back or forehead of each player without them seeing the name. Everyone mingles and asks one yes or no question to each other player in a bid to discover the name written on his or her card. Examples of possible questions: "Am I male?" "Am I alive?" "Do I star in musicals?"
