Makeup Worksheets
Some practicing beauticians prepare new makeup styles on paper worksheets before applying directly on a client&'s face. You can copy this technique by drawing an oval shape on a plain sheet of paper and adding eyes, lips and a nose. Make photocopies of this so you have a stack on hand and give one to a group of girls itching to practice some makeup application.
Mannequin Busts
Most beauty stores sell mannequin busts that you can directly apply makeup to. Girls can try outrageous styles on the busts, like green eyeshadow or dark lipstick, without dirtying up their own faces. Make sure to have plenty of baby wipes on hand, and you can remove the makeup when the girls are done playing, and the busts can be reused.
Beauty Parlor
After the girls have practiced different makeup styles, they can set up a make believe beauty parlor and try out the applications on one another. Place a few stools in front of a mirror and have some baskets scattered filled with inexpensive makeup from your local dollar store. If this game is for a party, let the girls take some of the makeup home as favors.
Makeup Creation
You can help little ones make their own custom makeup, just like real stylists do. Find a small container like a pill box and fill it with some petroleum jelly. Find some old lipsticks that you don&'t care about and break the lipstick from its tube. Kids can then smash bits of different lipstick colors into the jelly to make various shades of lip gloss. Youngsters can make a set of different colors and then try on the different lip glosses to find their favorite shades.
