Fun Games to Play at a Bar

The next time you go to a bar, add a little entertainment to your night of drinking by playing games at the bar. Some bar games can determine who purchases the next round. Others will show how much the players know about their alcohol, and others are for pure entertainment.
  1. Guess The Drink

    • Playing guess the drink lets you try a variety of drinks and prove your knowledge of alcohol. It can be played with mixed drinks or beers. Have each contestant purchase a drink, without any of the other players knowing what it is. Number the drinks and place them on the table, then give each player a piece of paper. Each player tastes a drink and tries to guess what it is by writing the name of the drink next to its number on his piece of paper. After everyone has made their guesses, reveal the names of each drink. The winner is the one who gets the most right. Each of the losers in the game has to buy the winner a drink during the night. If there is a tie for first place, the first person involved in the tie to finish his drink wins.

    Chase The Ace

    • Purchase a pitcher of beer, and pour a full beer for each player to start the game. This game can be played with one player rolling a die or two players rolling a die. If you use two dice, start the game with players sitting across from each other each rolling one die. If a player rolls a two or three, he keeps rolling. If he rolls a one, he passes the die to the player on his left. If you roll a six, you take a drink yourself. If you roll a four, the person on your left must take a drink, and if you roll a five the person on your right must take a drink. Refill drinks from the pitcher as needed.

    21 Aces

    • 21 Aces is a drinking game that chooses random players to name the next shot to drink, pay for the drink, and drink the shot. Each player rolls five dice, then hands the dice to the player on his left. After each roll, count the number of ones. When a player rolls the seventh one, he names the shot that will be ordered, though it is not ordered at this time. The player who rolls the 14th one is required to pay for the shot. The player who rolls the 21st one is the one that drinks the shot. After the shot is consumed, another round starts. Players are not eliminated by rolling the seventh or fourteenth one, meaning the player who names the shot might be the same to buy it or to drink it as well.
