WWE Games to Play

World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) commands millions of fans who cannot get enough of their favorite wrestlers and every atomic drop, body slam and pile driver that they deliver. Aside from staging their own squared-circle bouts with WWE action figures and play sets, fans can play various games that put them in the middle of the action.
  1. &'WWE DVD Board Game&'

    • Specialty Board Games&' "WWE DVD Board Game" places fans in the role of a WWE manager trying to earn "General Manager" status. Players buy wrestlers to build their stable and win championship titles. The game includes a 3-D ring, eight different games and 23 personalities each from the "Raw" and "SmackDown" TV programs. The game received upgraded treatments with second and third editions.

    &'WWE Raw Deal" Card Games

    • Comic Images&' "WWE Raw Deal" card games let fans simulate the types of matches seen on WWE TV programming. Players use cards to plan their next maneuver, with the action going back and forth as it does in WWE matches. Aside from moves inside the ring, the cards include common WWE features such as backstage attacks and manager interference. Comic Images ceased production of the games in 2007, following seven years&' worth of titles.

    WWE Video Games

    • WWE fans can choose wrestlers&' fighting style, moves, weapons, and career goals when playing THQ&'s series of WWE video games. THQ&'s "Legends of Wrestlemania," available for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms, lets players re-create classic feuds and matches, and create their own history en route to a place in the WWE Hall of Fame. The "SmackDown" franchise began in the early 2000s with "SmackDown" for the Sony PlayStation console. Other PlayStation-exclusive "SmackDown" titles include "Know Your Role" and "Just Bring It." Exclusive PlayStation 2 titles followed, in the form of "Shut Your Mouth!" "Here Comes the Pain" and "SmackDown Vs. Raw." The latter title spun off the annual "SmackDown vs. Raw" release, based on WWE&'s "SmackDown" and "Raw" TV programs. Fans can play "WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2006" on the PlayStation2 and PlayStation Portable platforms, and the 2007 edition on both of the aforementioned platforms, as well as Xbox 360. The 2008, 2009 and 2010 "WWE SmackDown vs. Raw" editions enjoyed release on PlayStation, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Portable, Xbox 360, Nintendo DS and Nintendo Wii platforms.

    &'WWE Undisputed: The Board Game&'

    • Players try winning four championship belts in Jakks Pacific&'s "WWE Undisputed: The Board Game." After choosing to play as Kurt Angle, Hulk Hogan, Triple H or The Undertaker, players move their WWE figure around the board and collect cards that they may use later. Upon landing on a "Match Fight" space, players challenge opponents -- preferably one holding a championship belt -- to a match. Players put their WWE figure in the ring in the middle of the board and use "Grapple" cards to battle. The player capturing the four required championship belts wins the game. Fans can check sites such Amazon or eBay for this out-of-print game.

    &'WWE Uno&' Card Game

    • Players grapple for dominance in Mattel&'s WWE edition of the classic "Uno" card game. Putting cards on top of other cards in a pile, players match cards by color, number or type. Cards include "Draw Four," "Draw Two," "Reverse," "Skip" and "Wild," as well as an exclusive "Royal Rumble" card. Before putting down their next-to-last card, players shout "Uno" to indicate that they have one card remaining in their hand. The player getting rid of all her cards first wins. An earlier "Uno" game, "WWE Legends of Wrestling," featured personalities from the 1980s and 1990s, and included a special "1-2-3" card not in regular "Uno" games.
