Braille Bingo
Bingo is a game you can easily adapt for the visually impaired. Since at least half the game play is dependent on hearing abilities, only the bingo cards need changing to suit those who have vision problems. Braille Bingo cards have textured and slightly raised black letters on the left side, and textured, slightly raised black numbers on the right. Thus someone who has a visual impairment and knowledge of the braille alphabet can easily participate. Bingo also offers monetary prizes, and money is something everyone can use.
Trivia Games
Trivia games are quite suitable for players with vision challenges, as you can simply read the questions aloud. Divide players into teams and compile a list of questions randomly, or base them on a theme such as history, politics, sports, current events, music or literature. You can also adopt suitable questions from popular trivia games, including Who Wants to Be a Millionaire or Trivial Pursuit. Alternatively, you can play and adapted version of the game "celebrities." Instead of asking players to write down and read off names of celebrities, interview each player separately and write down a list of celebrity names they give you, ranging from politicians and artists to actors and athletes. Divide your group into teams and whisper the name of a celebrity in a particular player&'s ear. She must then describe the celebrity to her teammates by talking about his appearance, work or personal life, but without mentioning his name. If his teammates correctly guess who it is, they get a point. Repeat the process with the other team and the game continues in this fashion, until one team reaches an agreed-upon number of points and is declared the winner.
Word Games
Traditional games that depend on making words in order to score points can become accessible to the blind or visually impaired with some minor tweaking. For example, you can get Scrabble and Boggle games that have extra large letters for the visually impaired, or even raised, textured letters. Some editions of these games come with Braille letters. These very simple changes can help people with impaired vision feel included.
