Games for Teenage Girls to Play

Teenage girls engage in many different activities. Through school, the Internet, movies and video games, girls are stimulated by a variety of images and ideas. However, many girls do not know how to play group games when they get together with other girls. These group games will keep teen girls laughing without outside influences that may lead to trouble.

Dress-Up Relay
- Divide the girls into two teams. Provide each team with several matching items of clothing. The clothing does not have to match exactly, but it does have to have the same items, such as a hat, shirt, shoes, pants, etc. Each person in the team must dress up in all the clothes one at a time, then remove them. The first team to dress and undress all players wins.
Mall-Goer Scavenger Hunt
- Take your teenage girls to the mall. Divide the girls into teams of four or five. Give each team a camera. Give the girls a list of characteristics to look for in the people walking through the mall. Some of the items on the list could include a cowboy hat, tortoise-rimmed glasses, sneakers, high heels, brightly colored hair (such as green), red socks, a purse dog or any other characteristics that you can think of. Each team must take a picture of the people they find with these characteristics. After one hour, the team with the most items found wins.
Love Your Neighbor
- This game requires that the girls sit in chairs in a large circle, or they can sit on the floor. One player stands in the middle of the group. The person in the middle asks someone in the circle if they love their neighbor. If the person says yes, then the neighbors of that person must try to switch seats before the person who asked the question can get there. The new person in the middle asks the question of someone else. The person answering the question can also say no. If she says no, she must say something else, such as “but I like girls with sneakers.” Everyone who matches the characteristic named by the girl must try to change places.
Forbidden Letter
- This game is hard to accomplish, but it's a lot of fun. The girls decide together to declare a letter “forbidden.” This letter can be any letter in the alphabet. No girl is allowed to say a word that contains that letter. If she does, she must pay a forfeit (such as doing a dare or remaining silent for one minute). If desired, the girls can go through the entire alphabet, eliminating one letter at a time.
