Animals
Get a list of animals that are in the camping area, such as birds, fish or insects. Each animal could be its own clue, or one clue could be “find five different animals native to this area around camp and take a photo.” Not only will this create a fun hunt, but will help campers learn more about the natural environment.
Plants
Different camp sites across the country have different plant life. Collect leaves or take photos to correctly identify different plant species native to the campsite. Depending on the season, flowers may be present and although campers shouldn't pick them, they could photograph them as part of a clue on a scavenger hunt list.
Camping Items
Typical items that many folks bring camping include marshmallows, fishing equipment and toilet paper. These items could be on the scavenger hunt list with the expectation of participants having to ask fellow campers for these items. This will ensure that campers meet other campers.
Certain Spots
There may be a certain side of the lake or a certain tree with a heart carved into it somewhere near the campsite. These places could be clues on a camp scavenger hunt and would help campers learn more about the history of the camp site if specific events had happened in certain spots around camp.
