Fun Maze Games to Play

The earliest mazes that historians are aware of are monuments in Egypt and Crete dating back thousands of years. Mazes still have had a pervasive role in popular culture for decades, from movies such as "The Labyrinth" to games like Pac Man. As technology has developed, the maze games available have become more challenging and there are more and more to choose from.
  1. Maze Frenzy 2

    • The website Maze Frenzy hosts the interactive game Maze Frenzy 2. This game features a very complex maze that at first glance looks like it is filled with dead ends, making it nearly impossible to successfully navigate. However, on second glance you realize the maze consists of moving parts. Thus, to successfully navigate this maze you have to time your actions perfectly so that they take advantage of certain parts of the maze creating new paths for your to follow at fleeting moments. Your overall score, once you do complete the maze, depends on your timing. The moment you click the "start" button of the maze the clock starts timing you, so it&'s best to move carefully but quickly.

    Game Design

    • The website Game Design hosts a maze game that is unlike most other maze games in that you only get a fraction of a view of the entire maze. You manipulate a miniature robot through the maze by hitting the arrow keys on your computer. But in doing so, you can only see your robot move through inches of the entire maze, moment by moment. Thus you need to make your decisions about where the robot goes immediately, forming these decisions on hunches, good guesses and an accumulated general sense of the maze as the robot moves back and forth. As the robot moves throughout the maze you collect clocks, which give you more time, keys, and hammers which can break through walls. If you get to the red door at the end of the maze you can escape to the next level if you&'ve already collected a key.

    Amaze Hand-Held Maze Game

    • The Amaze Hand-Held Maze Game is neither a hand-held video game nor something that you download or play on your computer. It&'s actually a type of portable board game where the twists and turns of the maze constantly change and adapt as you play. You have an attached pen or stylus that you use to navigate through the maze; you can push the stylus against the red bars of the maze in order to create pathways out of walls. The game does not allow you to lift your pen once you&'ve begun the game, thus the 16 levels of this game force you to find a way out of every dead end.
