Things You'll Need
Instructions
Review the layout of the balls on the table. Pay special attention to the ball that the cue ball should hit and where it needs to end up.
Hit a ball directly off the rail of the pool table at a diamond. The ball should rebound back in the opposite direction of the struck diamond toward the corresponding diamond on the opposite rail.
Hit a ball diagonally at a diamond using about a 10 degree angle. The ball should rebound off the rail and move in the opposite direction at about a 10 degree angle.
Practice taking shots aimed at various diamonds on the rail. Before taking your shot, predict where the ball will end up on the table after the shot.
Add other balls to the table to shoot around and use the diamonds to practice maneuvering around your opponent’s balls to complete the desired shot.
