Pool Golf Games

With swimming pool games including pool volleyball and pool horseshoes, it was only a matter of time before clever game designers decided to put together pool golf sets, too. Pool golf games typically consist of a floating ‘course’, which you set up at a place of your choosing in your swimming pool. The game uses foam balls and a plastic club, with the idea being that players hit the balls onto the course from the edge of the pool.
  1. Swimline Pool Golf

    • This pool golf set features a floating course, detailed in its design, which is 32 inches by 34 inches in size and constructed of soft foam. The course is designed to reflect the layout of its real life counterpart, with water and trees drawn on. Of course, the course isn’t quite as big, and only features three holes, with eight soft foam golf balls included to play with.

Meanwhile, the set’s ‘tee-off’ pad contains a storage slot for golf balls not currently in use, and a 27 inch club. According to the manufacturer Swimline, the set will assist keen golfers in improving their swing and other golfing skills. As of July 2010, the set retails for around $30.

    Poolmaster Poolside Challenge

    • Poolmaster is a long-established manufacturer of swimming pool games, accessories and equipment, from inflatables to in-pool sporting activities. Their pool golf set is a similar oval shape to many other sets, being organized to represent a three hole course. However, at 32 inches by 24 and a half inches in size, the Poolmaster set is a little smaller than most. The set comes with a golf flag to indicate which hole is currently being ‘aimed’ for, and the eight foam balls which are included are designed to float in order to minimize the time wasted looking for shots gone astray.

As on July 2010, the Poolside Challenge was retailing for around $40.

    Swimways Island Golf

    • This set is larger than most, with its floating course being 66 inches by 40 inches in size, offering a larger surface area for players to aim for but also taking up more space. The course folds up to allow players to store it away after use, and includes 12 golf balls, which are color-coded, being divided into red, yellow, orange and blue balls.

Retailing at between $50 and $70 as of July 2010, the Island Golf set is one of the more expensive pool golf games on the market.
