Licenses and Registration
According to the AGCO website, the hosts of lotteries, charity casinos, casinos and slot machines need a license or registration with the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation. The AGCO allows religious and charity organizations to raise money through gaming as long as they are registered.
Charitable Gaming Registration
Ontario has an act called "The Gaming Control Act, 1992," which requires businesses and individual people who provide goods or services to charitable organizations using gaming to raise money to register as suppliers or as gaming assistants.
Facility Registration
Casinos, charity casinos, slot machines and gaming employees must all register with the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation, except for slot machines at some exempt racetracks.
Lottery Registration
According to the AGCO, the people and businesses that supply lottery products must register with the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation.
Registration Criteria
To register for any form of gaming in Ontario, a person must be at least 18 years old. Individuals must also have an available job in a casino to apply for registration for gaming, lottery or slot machine work. Even maintenance and food employees at casinos must register if they have access to any areas where gaming takes place.
Pentalties
Gambling laws in Ontario allow the AGCO to enforce monetary penalties against violators of the gambling laws, according to the AGCO. The AGCO gives violators monetary penalties when it does not want go so far as to take away their license or registration but does want to penalize them for violating regulations.
