How to Make a Tether Ball Pole

Tetherball is a popular kids' game that's played with a ball attached to pole by a rope. The object of the game is to hit the ball repeatedly until you manage to wrap the rope around the pole before your opponent does. To play tetherball, you need a pole. You can cement a pole into the ground. The problem with a stationary pole is, it can't be moved out of the way. It's easy to make your own moveable tetherball pole.

Things You'll Need

Tetherball set
Old car tire
Large plastic garbage bag
Bag of cement
Plastic mixing trough
Shovel

Instructions

  Spread the garbage bag out on a flat ground surface. Lay the tire on the bag. Make sure the bag covers the area underneath the tire to make a tetherball pole.

  Mix the cement in the trough with water. Follow the manufacturer's directions to get the best results. Allow the cement to set for a 3 or 4 minutes, according to Momready. Pack the cement inside the tire, and make sure to fill it completely.

  Place the tetherball pole in the middle of the tire. Use a level to make sure it's straight. Allow the cement to harden overnight. Attach the rope and the tetherball to the pole.
