How to Make Landform Bingo Cards

Bingo is not just played with cards full of numbers. Bingo can also be played with special cards that have images of playing cards, Christmas symbols or any other collection of images and ideas. You can use Bingo as a way to educate players on a specific subject such as landform Bingo, where the numbers are replaced with names and pictures of land masses found around the world. As these landforms are called out, players will learn how to identify them by their name as well as their characteristics.

Instructions

    • 1

Choose at least 25 different landforms to use on the Bingo cards. Examples include caves, capes, buttes, archipelago, cliffs, dunes and plains.

    • 2

Measure 2 inches down on any side of a sheet of card stock paper and draw a line. Cut along the line to create a sheet of 10-inch by 12-inch card stock.

    • 3

Measure along the long end of the card stock. Make a mark after every 2 inches. Rotate the cardstock 90 degrees and measure along the edge, making marks every 2 inches.

    • 4

Draw a line across the card stock and down the card stock at every mark you created. You will be left with a 5 by 6 grid with each space being a 2-inch square.

    • 5

Rotate the card stock so that the five space side is parallel to you. Write "BINGO" along the top row of spaces with each letter taking up one space.

    • 6

Draw a picture or write the name of each landform you have chosen in the spaces of the card stock. Switch between words and pictures, but only have one of each landform in the grid. For example draw a picture of a hill but do not also write "Hill" on another space.

    • 7

Create additional cards. Arrange the landform names and pictures differently on each card or the players will all have Bingo at the same time.
