Things You'll Need
Instructions
Handle your pool stick with care. Avoid leaning your pool stick up against walls or tables, or tapping it on the floor, because this can encourage warping.
Store your pool stick upright in a hard shell pool stick case when not in use. Keep the pool stick case in a room that is kept between 68 and 72 degrees Fahrenheit. Position your pool stick case so that it is at least 6 feet away from heaters, air conditioners, drafts and humidifiers.
Clean your pool stick periodically to remove sweat residue and other grime that can erode your pool stick's finish. Dampen a soft cloth in a solution of warm, soapy water. Wipe down your pool stick with the damp cloth, paying special attention to the parts of the stick you handle most. Dry your pool stick thoroughly with a second soft cloth immediately after cleaning it.
Polish your pool stick with a wood wax or furniture polish product after each cleaning. Apply the wax or furniture polish to your pool stick with a soft cloth.
Check your pool stick periodically for warping. Lay the pool stick on a flat, non-warped pool table and attempt to roll it across. Note that non-warped pool sticks will roll easily, while warped pool sticks will wobble or roll unevenly. Mild warping shouldn't effect your game, though the warping will worsen over time.
