Things You'll Need
Instructions
Tell the other players--those who do not know the rules of the game--that the game is called Petals Around the Rose, and that the name of the game is the key to how it is played.
Roll all 5 dice, then tell the other players the number of petals that appear. The "rose" is the center pip on the sides of the dice that contain a center pip, i.e., the 1, 3, and 5. The petals are the pips around that center. The 1 has 0 petals, the 3 has 2 petals and the 5 has 4 petals. For example: a roll of 2, 3, 6, 6 and 5 has 6 petals.
Continue rolling the dice and revealing the number of petals--without revealing the rule for determining the number of petals--until one of the players thinks they know it. When a player says they know the rule, do not let them reveal it aloud. Instead, ask them to answer correctly for 6 rolls in a row. If they get the answer correct each time, they "win" the game, and they become the Potentate of the Rose.
