Hula Hoop Pass
Play this game outdoors or in a large indoor space. Instruct the group to stand in a circle facing each other with hands joined. Then break the circle briefly to pass a hula hoop over one person's arm. The group must now communicate and collaborate to pass the hula hoop around the entire circle without breaking the chain of hands. Once the group accomplishes the task the first time, make the game more difficult by adding additional hoops or imposing a time limit.
Blind Obstacle Course
Set up an obstacle course outdoors or in a large, clear indoor space. This activity does not require a complex obstacle course. Simply place cones or other objects around the space. Divide your group into pairs and pass out bandanas or blindfolds to each pair. One member of each pair must try to walk across the obstacle course blindfolded, while her teammate delivers verbal instructions to help her avoid the cones or other obstacles. To speed up the game, let all the teams go through the obstacle course at the same time. The blindfolded player will have to concentrate to pick out her teammate's voice among all the other voices.
Egg Drop Game
This game works well for children or campers. Gather as many craft and packing supplies as you can, including cardboard, paper towel rolls, paper clips, rubber bands, tape, newspapers or pipe cleaners. Divide the group into teams of three or more, and give each team an egg. Teams must use the available materials to create a cushion for their egg to prevent it from breaking when dropped. Allow teams to work for 10 or 12 minutes, and then have them take turns dropping their eggs to test their cushions.
Blanket Volleyball
Divide the group into two teams and give each team a large blanket or beach towel. The group must collaborate to hold the blanket spread out and in the air. The two teams launch volleyballs, water balloons or other balls between the blankets. Individual teams must work together to move in the appropriate direction to catch the balls.
