Pumpkin Racing
For pumpkin races, you will need two sticks and two similarly sized pumpkins. The pumpkins can be any size as long as they're not too big for the participants to roll. Pumpkin races work like any other race--but instead of running, participants push the pumpkins with the sticks to the finish line. If very young children are playing, it is preferable to allow them to push the pumpkins with their hands.
Turkey Hunt
To play turkey hunt, you need a small stuffed turkey. Each participant takes turns leaving the room while the other players hide the turkey somewhere in the room--for example, behind the piano or to the side of the television. After the player returns and starts searching the room, the other players will gobble softly when she is looking in a place where the turkey is not hidden, gobbling louder as she gets closer to finding the stuffed turkey.
At My Thanksgiving Dinner
To play at my Thanksgiving dinner, players sit in a circle facing each other. The first player tells the other players what he ate at his Thanksgiving dinner. For example, he may say, "At my Thanksgiving dinner, I ate turkey." The next player will add a dish in addition to what the first player ate. She may say: "At my Thanksgiving dinner, I ate turkey and mashed potatoes." Players keep adding dishes, tacking them onto the others previously mentioned. The dishes must be repeated in the exact order they were added.
When a player cannot remember the items or the order the items were eaten in, he drops out of the game. The winner is the last person remaining after the other players have dropped out.
