Word Machine

• The game Word Machine has an industrial design and mysterious, whimsical music and sounds to match. The game gives players a letter, and to earn points, you must make words, including that given letter. After you create your first word using that given letter, you receive another letter that you must use in your next word (along with the letter provided before). The longer your words, and the more you can create in the given time, the more points you will earn. The game is available in English as well as French.

Spelling City

• Spelling City is a website that has spelling tools, including a forum, online games and various other resources. On the website's homepage, enter a spelling list to use it for a test, teaching exercise or game. Games include unscrambling the mixed-up letters of a word, finding a missing letter and audio word match.

Miss Spell's Class

• Miss Spell's Class is a game in which players receive a list of words. Player must choose whether the game spelled each word correctly or incorrectly. Players earn their score based on accuracy as well as speed.

Spelling Banner

• A party game well suited for a holiday celebration is Spelling Banner. The game is played by creating two banners. Write phases that are somewhat related to the celebration on the banners---for example, "Happy Birthday" or "Merry Christmas." Use two colors of paper, and cut out the letters used in the words on the banners. For a Christmas-themed game, "Merry Christmas" could have green letters and "Happy Holidays" could be green. Hide the letters around the area in which you'll play the game. If it is played in a living room, you could possibly hide letters behind a chair cushion or beneath a vase.

  Divide the players into two equal (or near to equal) teams. Each team has a captain who waits for his team to bring the letters as they collect them. Each team must collect the letters in the right color for their team banner (if they come across the color for the other teams banner, they leave it where they found it). The team that fills in each of the letters of there banner first wins.
