Snowman Building Games

Aside from snowball fights and sports such as skiing and snowboarding, snowman building remains one of the most popular snow-related activities, especially for kids. Snowman enthusiasts may extend their love of snow-made characters by playing various online games that involve their favorite activity, or by building a traditional snowman, out in cold, snowy conditions.
  1. Snowman Salvage

    • Without new packs of snow tacked, snowmen may melt in the "Snowman Salvage" game, found at the Shockwave site. To build snowmen, players drag snow that falls from the sky into one pile. The snowman meter on the top left indicates how many snowmen players need to build, and white borders surrounding the snowmen indicate that players must not finish the level with less than that amount, otherwise the game ends.

Players must watch for a red exclamation point above a snowman. This indicates that he's about to melt. As the game progresses, players must stop machines such as bulldozers from trying to knock down snowmen. Players must keep snowmen alive for 30 seconds to move to next level. As players garner points, they may use points to upgrade various features, including the ability to carry more snow, produce more snow from the sky, increase falling snow's size and do more damage to destructive machines.

    Snowman Stacker

    • Snowman height takes precedence in "Snowman Stacker," accessible at the Miniclip.com. Players prepare to toss and stack snowmen by moving their mouse to set toss angle. When they think they have the right angel, players hold down the mouse button and release the snow once the power meter reaches players' desired strength level. If players feel their snowman has gone as high as it's going to go, they click "Finish" to save their work. If the snowman stack falls, players lose their score.

    Snowman Building Contest

    • In the proper outdoor setting---meaning, cold-enough weather and sufficient amount of enough snow on the ground----two teams compete to build their own 5-foot tall Frosty the Snowman. Players may adjust snowman height criteria depending on participants' ages. The game begins as a relay race, with players on each team taking turns rolling snowballs back and forth between two lines on a field. If the game involves younger kids, older participants may help them roll the snowballs. Whichever team has all of its members roll the snowballs back and forth first wins the snowball roll portion of the game.

For the snowman construction, a team may win via one of the following scenarios: building a 5-foot snowman first with no specified time limit, or building the taller snowman within an allocated time frame. Players should have a measuring stick or tape on hand to measure the snowmen accurately, and may use accessories to adorn their snowman.
