Instructions for How to Make a Washer Toss Game

Washers is a game that involves standing on a wood box and throwing washers around a pipe that is located on another pipe. The most difficult part of constructing a washer toss game is making the two platform boxes. Several materials are used to make this game at home.

Things You'll Need

2 8-foot 2-by-4s
1 3/4-inch-thick sheet of plywood
1 7-inch piece of PVC pipe 6 inches in diameter.
6 2-inch-long flat washers.
Saw
2 1/2-inch wood screws and screwdriver
Glue

Instructions

  Cut a sheet of plywood that is 3/4 inches thick into a square that is 17 inches long on each side.

  Cut two 8-foot-long 2-by-4s into eight smaller pieces. Four of the pieces should be 17 inches in length; the other four pieces should be 14 inches long.

  Make a square out of the cut-up 2-by-4s. Have two of the 17-inch-long pieces be the top and bottom of the square. Make two of the 14-inch-long pieces the sides of the square.

  Drill in two screws in each side of the square. The two screws should be on opposite sides of each side.

  Attach the square you've just made onto the plywood square. Drill in two screws through each side of the square, so that the two squares are connected.

  Repeat Steps 1 through 5 to make another box.

  Cut a 7-inch-long piece of PVC pipe that is 6 inches in diameter in half. The circle should stay intact.

  Use extra strength glue to attach one-half of the PVC to each box. The pipe should go in the center of each box.

  Set the boxes 3 feet apart and use the washers to start playing.
