Interactive Office Games

If your office parties have become stale and boring, a great way to liven them up and make them enjoyable for guests is to encourage people to mingle and have fun. Three main types of games will work especially well for office events: scavenger hunts, murder mysteries and improvisation games.
  1. Scavenger Hunt

    • A scavenger hunt is a great game that offices of any size will enjoy. You can play this type of game right in the office or at an external location. Divide party guests into groups of three to five people, depending on the size of the party. Give the team members a list of items to find or actions to perform. You can provide each team a camera or video camera to record progress, or they can just collect the objects as they find them. Make a list of items to find based on a theme or just for fun. Make sure to hide any unique items ahead of time. The first team to finish its list is the winner. If the teams shot pictures or video play the images or video during dinner.

    Murder Mystery

    • A murder mystery game is a great game for larger office parties. This type of game is best played at an external location, but most games should also be adaptable for play inside the office. Many of these games come in kits on a variety of topics. For best results, major characters in the game should prepare ahead of time so they are familiar with the story and how the game is supposed to progress. If there is a theme to the game, have guests dress in costume. Throughout the event, reveal the game elements. The first person to solve the crime receives a prize or award. Murder mystery games are best for groups of 20 or more people.

    Comedy Games

    • Comedy games can also be a fun way to liven up any office event or party. Many different kinds of comedy and improvisation game kits are available that offer a variety of activities and humor. Comedy games are a great way to liven up team-building conferences or other office events that are traditionally boring. Games are divided into warm-up or improvisation rounds so that players can become familiar with how the games work before they are required to play them on stage or in front of other people. Participant can play as individuals or teams.
