Shark & Fishing Math Games

Educational games can be a great way to motivate students of any age to learn while still having fun. By using a fishing or shark game that has bright and exciting animation, these games can be a great way to encourage kids to improve their math skills for kids that are interested in fish and sharks. Flash games can also be played in your browser without having to download them, allowing players to enjoy these games any place, any time.
  1. Fishin' Mission

    • This colorful Flash game helps build counting and color identification skills. Players must help the fisherman by selecting the correct number and color of fish with their mouse and dragging them into his net. A timer counts down as time elapses, and the fisherman will count in big bold letters as you pull the fish into the net. The game has five levels, ranging from easy to hard. The first level asks you to count to a number between one and five, while the second asks for a number between one and ten. The third and fourth levels progress the same way, except there are two different colors of fish and you must select only fish of the correct color. The final level asks you to select a number of fish between one and ten, and there are three colors of fish to choose from. If you pull the wrong fish into the net, it will let you try again right away, but if the timer runs out, it will say "Game Over" and you will have to start from the beginning.

    Fishing Multiplication

    • Kids can practice their multiplication skills in this fishing Flash game. A cartoon boy is fishing next to a river, and a multiplication problem will pop up above his fishing pole. The problem will also show up in the water, where different colored fish will swim by with a number on top of them. For example, if the problem "1 x 2" pops up, a fish might swim by with the number "3" on top of it. Players must then select the fish with the correct number on it with their mouse. If the answer is incorrect, it will say "Try again." Players get five points for every correct answer, and when they reach 50, a giant fish will appear with "Congratulations" written on it. Problems range from easy ("1 x 2") to hard ("9 x 3").

    The Card Shark Game

    • This is a challenging game that requires abstract thinking skills as well two-digit subtraction skills. It is a card game where you play against a computer "Card Shark." The game begins by dealing each player four cards, and placing two more cards in the center of the board. These cards in the center become the "Target Number" when combined. For example, a "9" and a "5" in the center of the board becomes "95." The four cards that each player has can be placed on each player's game board to form a two-digit subtraction problem. Cards can be placed in any order or combination, but the object of the game is to have the answer to your two-digit subtraction problem be as close as possible to the target number. The player and the Card Shark will each place their own cards on separate boards to try to reach the target number. The distance of your answer from the target number is your score for that round. There are five rounds in each game, and the player with the lowest total wins.
