Games to Play With 2 Players

Two-player games are ideal for engaging a friend in a battle of wits and athleticism. They should be played in the spirit of friendly competition and often the simplest games are the most enjoyable. Whether playing one-on-one basketball or an indoor table-top game, the goal is to have fun with a friend.

Table Tennis
- Table tennis is a good game to play when limited to a confined area but still want to exercise your footwork skills and hand-to-eye coordination. One player serves, while his opponent returns the serve with a single bounce. If the serve is not returned properly, then the other player wins a point. The game is won when one player scores 11 points and game play can be extended by holding a best out of three series.
HORSE
- HORSE is a popular one-on-one basketball game in the object is to match your opponent's shots exactly. The opponent chooses a spot to shoot from and if he makes the basket, the other player must successfully repeat the shot or you will receive a letter, starting with "H." If he misses his shot then you take the lead under the same rules. The game continues until one player misses five repeat shots to receive all the letters that spell out "HORSE."
Carrot and the Stick
- This is a fencing game in which plastic toy swords are substituted for actual sabres or foils. With a toy sword in one hand and a bag of candy in the other, defend yourself in a fencing duel and prevent the other player from taking your candy. Hold the bag up to your midsection throughout the duel and you are not allowed to flee from the other player. The game is won when either player lands a "kill" blow or is able to take the candy from his opponent.
