Model Games for Girls

Girls may look at models and idolize their clothing, hair and makeup, not to mention their confident posing and strutting while walking a runway. While girls may see the glitz and glamour on the surface, they can get an idea of what it takes to achieve a successful modeling career by playing various model games.
  1. Online Games

    • Model satisfaction determines cover-girl status in "Model Studio," accessible at the Hot Games for Girls site. Players service models at various stations, in an effective and timely manner. The less waiting and the higher a model's satisfaction, the more points players earn. A model must leave the studio in a good mood in order for players to receive a thumbs-up service rating. Players' number of thumbs-up ratings must outnumber the thumbs-down ratings, or the game ends. For the third and final round, players must have no more than two thumbs-down ratings in order for their models to grace the cover of a magazine. If players have three or more, the game concludes with no cover models.

Salon customers try to become the next model superstar at "Model Dream Factory," accessible at the Girls Games 1 site. Players drag customers to the makeup and hair chairs, as well as a fitting room, choosing their favorite looks to earn maximum dollars. After models emerge from the fitting room, players send them to a judging panel. Each level has a target amount of money; the faster and more effectively players service customers and the higher the judges' scores, the more money players earn. Upon completion of a level, players may upgrade equipment to improve customer satisfaction and waiting time.

    Magnetic Fashion Show Playboard

    • Girls can dress models and move them around a playboard with Smethport Specialty's Create a Scene: Magnetic Fashion Show Playboard. The board features a runway, onlookers, two models and different outfits. Players place or slide the pieces anywhere on the board and may judge each other's models when they walk the runway.

    "Mission Runway" Console Game

    • Girls compete to become a model superstar by playing THQ's "Mission Runway," available on the Nintendo DS platform. Players participate in weekly challenges, with judges eliminating one model a week. Areas in which players need to excel include fashion sense, makeup, catwalk style, posing and photo shoots. In addition, players take weekly quizzes that exhibit their knowledge to the judges. Throughout the game, coaches provide incentive and support to players as they try to survive elimination.

    Role-Playing Game

    • With a group of friends, girls can play "America's Next Top Model." An adult acts as the photographer, one girl acts as the judge and the remaining girls play models. If the girls are too young to wear makeup, they can ask mom or an older sister to make an exception for this game or play without makeup.

The photographer snaps pictures of the models---wearing their choice of fashion---in various areas in and out of the house, with the judge selecting her favorite photo. Models then follow a fashion theme for the main challenge, after which the judge chooses the winner after seeing the models strut their stuff on the "runway," which could be an area in the hallway or living room.

While the game may follow the TV series' process of eliminating one girl from the competition following the main challenge, the judge could rank models in order of preference for both challenges and assign a set number of points based on rank. The girl with the highest cumulative points wins the game; if there's a tie, the judge could have the models walk the runway one last time and make a final decision.
