Bar Room Games

Whether you're setting up a home bar in your basement or planning on opening one up to the public, a set of games is a basic requirement for any bar. While drinking can often provide enough fun in itself, having amusement options for guests can never be a bad thing, and it can help your bar gain a reputation as a fun place to hang out.
  1. Billiards

    • Perhaps the most popular bar game, billiards--or pool--is an essential element for many drinkers. Setting up a pool table can be a costly endeavor, as it requires an expensive table, pool cues and balls. But if you open your bar to the public, you can charge for the use of the table and quickly recoup your expenses.

    Darts

    • Darts is a close runner-up in bar room game popularity. Due to the risk of injury associated with the game, it's important to place your darts set in a place where people won't be walking by.

    Table Shuffleboard

    • Table shuffleboard, also known as American shuffleboard or shufflepuck, is a game in which metal or plastic pucks are slid along a wooden board, with the goal of advancing the puck as far down the board as possible without going over the edge. Unlike traditional shuffleboard, the puck is moved directly with the hand instead of a cue stick.

    Pub Trivia

    • Pub trivia is typically a weekly or monthly event held in bars and pubs. Although formats for the game vary, a quiz master typically plans trivia questions that are asked in succession, while teams write down their answers and submit them. The winner often receives free drinks and food or money that was pooled by the contestants.

    Arcade Games

    • Arcade games make for great distractions in any bar room. Depending on the vibe of your bar, you'll either want to choose from retro games or modern games. Popular retro games include PacMan, Frogger and Asteroids, while modern hits include Big Buck Hunter and Time Crisis.
