Quia Spanish Activities
This website has over 7,000 activities to improve students' Spanish skills. Some are quizzes, some are modeled on the popular TV game show "Jeopardy," some are hangman or battleship games, and others are interactive activities that involve matching, answering questions, and placing things in order. The entire list of games can be sorted by ranking (games in the Top 100 are starred), game title and type of activity. There is also an extensive search function to allow users to search for a specific keyword (i.e. "family" or "familia" if you want to learn family vocabulary), or to select a specific subcategory (i.e. "Adjectives"), which will display only the activities that fall under those constraints. The long list of activities, as well as the wide range of topics that they cover, will surely keep any student practicing their Spanish for hours.
Maggie's Earth Adventures
This website, produced by Scholastic, has six different Spanish games to help students practice their Spanish skills. The first is a bicycle racing game, where players can select the easy or advanced level, and then answer vocabulary questions in order to get close to the finish line. Another game asks players to sort Spanish vocabulary words into the correct recycling bin based on the category they fall into. Yet another game explains the structure of various objects such as the earth, and a flower, using Spanish vocabulary words. The other games also are designed to improve students' vocabulary skills in various ways.
Don Quijote
There are over a dozen different interactive hangman and word search games on this website, sorted by the type of vocabulary presented in the game. The word search games range from animals, items in the house, cities, numbers and fruits, and allow students to select the words they find with their mouse on the screen. The word searches can be played again and again with the simple click of the "Rescramble" button, which rearranges the letter board so that it is never the same twice. The hangman games have some overlapping categories, but also include topics such as adjectives, flowers, colors and cars. Players must guess different letters to fill in the blanks and form the correct word. Players are allowed six incorrect guesses before they must try again.
