Setting Up
Shuffle the cards and deal them out evenly to make a draw pile in front of each player. Each player removes the top card from his draw pile and places it face-down in the center of the play area. Each player then draws three cards from his draw pile and holds them in his hand.
Playing
The game begins when each player turns over the card she placed in the center of the play area. Each player must then place one of the cards from her hand into one of the center piles. The card must match color, shape or object groupings printed on the cards. Each player does this as quickly as possible, not in turn. Each player is allowed to have three cards in her hand at all times and can draw only from her own draw pile. The first player to run out of cards is the winner.
Strategy
Blink is a game of speed, so the player with the fastest hand-eye coordination will have an advantage. A player should keep his draw pile within quick reach and keep his three-card hand close to the discard pile. As soon as you draw a new card from your pile, see if it matches the draw pile before putting it in your hand so you can play it immediately and save precious seconds. A good rule of thumb is to look over the deck before game play and familiarize yourself with the different shapes and patterns. The more familiar you are with the cards, the easier it will be to match them.
