Word Find Puzzle Game
Draw an approximately five by six inch square on the graph paper to outline the area you'll create your puzzle in. Position your square in the upper left of your paper, leaving room along the right for your word list. Draw along the lines of the graph paper.
On a spare sheet of paper, create a list of 15 to 30 words. Select a theme such as "our summer vacation" or "favorite dinners."
Alphabetize the list and write your words in a column down the right-hand side of your graph paper.
Place your words into the puzzle area, one letter to a box. Place words up, down, across and diagonally, scattering words around the board and occasionally overlapping words.
Fill in the remaining squares with random letters, frequently using letters and letter combinations from your words.
Make copies for others to use and save your original.
Trivia Game
Select five trivia categories. Examples include places, celebrities, politicians, history and pop culture. If creating the game for kids, categories might be movies, hobbies, family, toys and books. Write each category in large letters on a separate piece of paper. Tape to the cardboard or wall.
Write five trivia questions for each category, putting one question each on a separate piece of paper. You can write them "Jeopardy" style, with contestants given an answer for which they need to come up with a question. Or you can write the question and several possible answers as multiple choices.
Tape the questions in a column below the matching category, with the questions facing the board or wall.
Use a whiteboard as a scoreboard. Players take turns picking a question and get 100 points for each correct answer. Play until the questions are gone.
