How to Create Free Bingo Cards for Kids

Bingo is a useful rainy-day activity that requires only a few simple supplies. Make bingo cards that follow a travel theme for car trips or that coincide with your classroom lesson plans. Pass out the supplies and have each child craft her own bingo card, or have them ready beforehand. Offer a few small prizes to the winner of each game for an afternoon of fun.

Things You'll Need

Construction paper
Scissors
24 to 30 different stickers, 3 to 5 copies of each sticker
Pencil
Permanent Marker
24 pieces of 2 inch paper squares
Contact paper (optional)
25 pennies per child

Instructions

  Decide how big you want your cards to be. Use a whole sheet of construction paper for large cards or cut each piece in half for smaller cards.

  Use a ruler and pencil to make a grid that measures five squares across by five squares down for 25 total squares. Use a marker or pen to darken your grid lines.

  Mark the very center square on each card as a "free" space.

  Lay out 24 to 30 types of stickers into sorted piles. Create tickets for the callers to use by writing the names of the objects on each sticker on individual pieces of paper.

  Add one sticker to each grid box on each card. Make sure the stickers are in different places on each card so no two cards are alike. If you have more than 24 different stickers, vary the types of stickers used on each card.

  Allow each child to use crayons, markers or other craft supplies to decorate her bingo card.

  Laminate the cards by sticking contact paper to the front and back. This is optional, but will make your cards last longer.

  Fold the small paper slips in half and put them in a bowl. Pass out 25 pennies to each child. Pull out a paper slip and read the item on the card out loud. Have each child use a penny to mark the sticker that corresponds to the item called out. Play until someone gets a bingo. Offer prizes, like candy, to the winner of each round.
