Counting Game
The math game Watermelon Numbers will teach preschoolers to count. Children will play by attaching a number underneath a watermelon that has that number of seeds on it. To make this file folder game, print out watermelons, each with a different number of seeds on them from 1 to 10. After the watermelons are laminated and cut out, glue them on a file folder, five on each half. Attach a piece of Velcro underneath each watermelon. Print, laminate and cut out the numbers 1 -10 and attach Velcro to the back of each number and then put into a envelope.
Colors Game
The Scarecrows Color game teaches children how to match the same color. Children will have to match a paper crayon with the color written on it to a scarecrow with the same color. This game is made by printing, laminating and cutting out scarecrows that are different colors.. Attach scarecrows about an inch apart with tape or glue. Print, laminate and cut out crayons that are the colors of each scarecrow and store in an envelope. To play Scarecrow Colors, the preschooler will place the crayon that matches each scarecrow on the scarecrow's hand.
Shapes Game
Match The Shapes teaches children about shapes and matching. The object of the game is to have the preschoolers place the right shape on top of the corresponding shape on the file folder.To make the game, print out shapes such as squares, triangles and hearts. Cut out half of the shapes and glue them to a file folder and laminate. Take the remaining shapes, laminate and cut them out and place them in an envelope.
Letters Game
To make the Letters Game, write the uppercase letters of the alphabet on a file folder, leaving 2 inches of space between and underneath each letter and laminate. Place a piece of Velcro underneath each letter. Print, laminate and cut out the lowercase letters of the alphabet. Then place a piece of Velcro on he back of each letter and store in an envelope. To play, preschoolers attach the lowercase letter under it's matching uppercase letter.
