Yahtzee
Yahtzee is an easy game to play; every player rolls 5 dice at each turn. Those dice may be scored as rolled, or the player can choose to roll again up to two more times. Once the player has decided to score the dice, or when the player has rolled the dice three times, the player then records the score on the score sheet. The score sheet consists of 14 different categories. The top section is for the total number of rolled dice that show a certain face number; for example, there is a category for 3s, and the player must add up the total number of 3s he or she rolled in a given round and record that score. The bottom section of the score sheet records combinations, such as a full house (3 of a kind and 2 of a kind) or a large straight (all 5 dice in numerical order). The player with the highest score at the end of the game wins. (See Reference 1)
Phase 10 Dice
Another game you can score easily is Phase 10 Dice. Like its card game counterpart, Phase 10 Dice requires players to complete a series of phases, and the player with the highest score wins. There are 10 dice in the game; five of the dice are numbered 5-6-7-8-9-10, and the other five dice are numbered 1-2-3-4-W-W. In this game, W is a Wild and can be used for any number or color. All the dice are variously colored as well. To play, each player must roll the 10 dice on his or her turn and try to finish the phase. Each player gets three rolls to try for the phase. After each turn, the player records the total number of dice needed to accomplish the phase. If the player did not complete the phase, no score is given; in the next round, the player must try again. For example, the first phase, 2 sets of 3, requires players to get 2 sets of 3 matching numbers. If a player rolls and gets the phase, such as 9-9-9 and 7-7-W, that player scores only those dice that helped accomplish the phase. Since wilds are worth nothing, the player's score would be 41. Play continues until all players finish; the highest scoring player wins. (See Reference 2)
