Cool Games for Kids

Kids enjoy playing organized games with friends. There are many games that can be played without needing many supplies. Cool games for kids are great for parties or Field Day activities. Consider playing a few games kids will love at your child's next gathering.
  1. Capture the Flag

    • Divide the kids into two teams for this outdoor game. Assign one team the front yard, and the other team the backyard. Each team will need to hide their flag somewhere in their assigned location. Give the teams five to 10 minutes to hide the flag. When both teams have hidden their flag, they go on a hunt to find and capture the flag of the opposing team. The team that finds the other team's flag first wins the game. Have the kids hide more then one flag per team if you want to make the game more challenging.

    Hide and Seek

    • Hide and Seek is an old game that never goes out of style. It can be played indoors or outdoors. The game is simple and will get the kids moving. Pick one child to be "it." They will close their eyes and count to 50. Make sure they are counting at a "base." This is the spot where hiders have to touch to be safe. While the kid is counting, the other kids find a spot to hide. After the counter gets to 50, he will try to find the other kids. If the child finds and tags one of the kids before they get to the base, then that child is now "it." If they do not tag anyone, they are "it" again.

    Water Balloon Fight

    • Kids love a good water balloon fight. All you need for this game balloons, which can be purchased at most party stores. Before the game, fill all of the balloons with water. Give each child a certain number of water balloons (five to 10 is a good number). Blow a whistle when you are ready for the fight to begin. Let the kids go crazy running around throwing balloons at each other. The kids will get soaked from this game so you may suggest bringing a change of clothes.
