Games
There are different versions of darts, including 301, 601 and 801, which are based on the number of points players or teams start from.
Dart Board
A dart board needs to be placed 5 feet, 8 inches above the floor, according to an article called "The Setup" on Mostdarts.com. The throw line should be 7 feet, 9 inches from the dart board if steel-tipped darts are used, and 8 feet from the dart board if soft-tipped darts are used.
Starting
Players get three darts during a game. They throw their darts and remove them before letting their opponents have a turn. To determine who starts, players each throw a dart at the board, and the one who hits closest to the bull's-eye starts.
Winning
The goal of darts is to get to zero points. Players start with a certain number of points, such as 601, and try to hit numbered sections on a dart board to get their points down. They need get down to zero points at the end. If they do not on a turn, their points do not count.
Fouls
A player commits a foul if his foot goes over the throw line, and the points he received during his turn do not count. If a dart bounces off or is knocked off a board before a player removes it, the points from that dart do not count.
