How to Make Mexican Train Domino Holders

Mexican Train is a domino game for two people or more, but is best when played with four or more. Each player creates her own chain of dominoes, all starting with the same domino, which is placed in the center, with the goal of being the first to get rid of all her dominoes.

Instructions

  1. Making a Mexican Train Domino Holder

    • 1

Draw a regular octagon on a thick piece of cardboard. Each side of the octagon should be 1 11/16 inches long. The interior angles of a regular octagon are 45 degrees.

    • 2

Starting 5/16 of an inch in from each corner, in each direction, draw a 5/16 of an inch line toward the center of the octagon.

    • 3

Draw a straight line across connecting the two lines on each side. This should form a small rectangle on the inside of each side of the octagon.

    • 4

Trace a domino in the center of your octagon. Don't worry; it doesn't have to be perfectly centered or point in any specific direction.

    • 5

Cut out the octagon while also cutting out the little notches from each side. Finally, cut out the domino shape you traced into the center using a craft knife. You now have a completed Mexican train domino holder.
