Determine the size and cut of the wood. The official cornhole regulations require the plywood to be 24 by 48 inches, so use the circular saw to cut the board precisely in half. The 2 by 4 inch boards also need to be trimmed. Cut four pieces 4 feet long; cut four pieces 21 inches long; cut four pieces 11-5/8 inches long.
Construct the board. Piece together the 2 by 4 inch boards by making a rectangle out of two 4-foot pieces and two 21-inch pieces. The length of this frame should be 4 feet. Make two copies of this rectangle. Then place the plywood on top of the frame. Use the wood screws to fasten the board in place. Use 10 screws per board.
Attach the legs. Developing a plan for attaching the legs is important. The legs will be on hinges and adjustable for greater portability. Take two of the 11-5/8" 2 by 4-inch boards and screw hinges on the 2-inch side so that the top of the hinge is flush with the top of the board. Then, place the top of the 2 by 4-inch board into the top of the frame and against the board, with the hinge facing down. Screw the hinge into the plywood.
Measure and cut the hole. With the tape measure, mark off 9 inches from the top of the board. Then, measure and mark 12 inch from the side. Where the two marks meet should be the center of the circle. Using a hole saw, cut a 6-inch circle centered on that mark.
Sand and finish the board. Using sandpaper, grind down the surface of the board until it is very smooth. Then, depending on the desired color, paint the board with a latex paint. However, if you desire to comply with official regulations, the board must be painted white with no decorations. For best results, use at least two coats of paint.
