Fun Stick Games

While video games cost tens of millions of dollars to design and program, with characters and graphics that have incredible intricacies, the other extreme of the spectrum is stick games, which follow stick figures from simple level to simple level. They are, of course, simple and fun, yet at the same time challenging, proving a video game doesn't necessarily need jaw-dropping graphics and constant intensity to be enjoyable and addictive for gamers.
  1. Stick Trinity

    • In Stick Trinity you are a warrior with a samurai sword (at least that's what we can assume) fighting other stick figures wielding knives and various other small weapons. The controls are simple as the arrow keys move you from spot to spot and the A and S keys are your sword attacking key strokes. When combined with your direction keys, different moves and combos can be achieved, giving you a better score. Both score and advancement in each level is important--at the end of each stage you fight a unique new boss, the first of which is a knife-throwing lady bug.

    Stick War

    • Stick War is a graphically simpler version of the popular video game Warcraft and a more intense version of the popular board games Stratego and Risk. You're basically the general of a stick war army fighting against a number of other rulers of various regions. But you must start from scratch at the beginning and gradually build your army, by mining gold, silver and other precious minerals which allows you to create and train soldiers and archers. From level to level, gather a bigger and bigger army and set out on bigger campaigns, fighting full-on bloody battles against rival stick clans. The game is based on strategy and foresight, as any good general should have.

    Tactical Assasin

    • In Tactical Assassin you are a sniper looking through a scope trying to pick off other tactical stick figure targets with your sniper rifle. Simple, fun and intense, it feels like the best parts of a spy game on a PlayStation or XBox without all the bells and whistles. And as you advance from level to level it actually gets quite challenging, almost too challenging in fact, as aiming and clicking with your mouse as a sniper rifle scope is not terribly accurate. It is a violent game which is not for children, yet a perfect game for breaks in between long stints of work, to get that aggression out in the virtual world.
