How to Solve 6-Piece Wooden Puzzle Cubes

Wooden cube puzzles are all types of Burr puzzles, which are identified as having at least three intersecting pieces that form cubed shapes. Six-piece Burr puzzles have identifying outer edges and intersecting inner pieces. When put together correctly, you can form a cube, star, or different shapes representing a burr from a plant.

Instructions

  Lay out all six pieces.

  Identify the piece that does not have inside cuts. This piece will be the final one that will lock all the other pieces together. Usually, you will place this piece last.

  Identify pieces that are smooth on the outside. These will form the outer edge of the cube.

  Lay out the outer edges of the cube and set aside the part you identified as the final piece.
- 5
  Connect the leftover pieces to form the middle of the cube. Try different combinations of the outer pieces until you finish the outside of the cube.

  Insert the final piece.
