Assemble the Puzzle Carefully
In order to preserve a puzzle, it has to be assembled in full. No pieces can be missing or bent, so take care not to lose or damage any of the pieces while you are constructing the puzzle. The more gently you treat the pieces the better the final product will be once the puzzle has been preserved and is ready for display.
Purchase Special Glue
Save-a-Puzzle glue is just one type of puzzle preservation glue, although it is the most popular. Puzzle preservation glue can be purchased from any arts and crafts store. To use it, simply paint a thin layer of glue across the top of the puzzle. Wait for it to dry. Then, paint a layer over the bottom side to secure it. A second coat may be necessary, but the glue must be completely dry in order to tell. It should take an hour or two for the puzzle to be completely dry.
Mount and Frame the Puzzle
After the puzzle has been glued, the final step is to mount and frame the puzzle. The best frames for puzzle preservation are made specifically for that purpose, but any frame that is large enough will do. Mount the puzzle carefully on the board in the back of the frame and put it all together as you would a photograph. Now, your puzzle is preserved forever.
