How to Make an Obstacle Course Inside

Indoor obstacle courses are a fun and effective way to keep kids busy on rainy days. Put away all the glass and potentially hazardous items and have some rambunctious fun with your kids indoors. All you need is some furniture, pillows, string, beanbags or whatever else you have lying around the house that you can get creative with.

Instructions

    • 1

Creating a starting line. This is where the obstacle course will begin. Lay down a piece of tape to indicate the starting line.

    • 2

Set up a row of chairs for your children to crawl underneath.

    • 3

Place a Hula Hoop on the ground and tell them they have to jump inside and outside the hoop five times.

    • 4

Set up a trash can or laundry basket and three beanbags. Tell them they have to make one beanbag into the trash can before they can move on.

    • 5

Set up a spoon and Bouncy Ball and tell them they have to run from one point to another with the ball on the spoon without dropping it. If it falls, they have to pick it up and try again.

    • 6

Have the children sing a song or recite a funny poem as fast as possible.

    • 7

Set up any other stations that will work in your home.

    • 8

Have everyone stand in a line and go through the obstacle course one at a time.

    • 9

Use a timer to determine who gets the best time.
