Things You'll Need
Instructions
Lay a square sheet of paper down on a flat surface.
Fold the paper in half vertically and then in half horizontally.
Unfold the paper so you can see the creases from the previous folds. The creases will divide the paper into fourths.
Fold each corner inward to the center of the paper.
Flip the paper over and fold the new four corners of the square inward to the center of the paper again.
Write a number on each of the eight triangles pointing toward the center. There will be two triangles per flap of the square.
Flip up each of the four flaps and write two "fortunes" per flap, with one fortune on each half of the flap-triangle. The fortunes could be general answers to yes and no questions, such as "yes," "no," "maybe," "definitely" and "absolutely not." You also could write a short phrase predicting the future, such as "Money coming today," or "Watch your back." Fold each flap back down after you write the fortunes on it.
Fold the square in half vertically and then horizontally.
Unfold the last fold and color each of the four squares (two on each side of the rectangular piece of paper) a different color. You also could write the name of a color onto each square.
Slip your thumbs and forefingers under the four flaps of the square. Push inward gently so your thumbs and forefingers meet in the center under the flaps. The fortune teller should look like a raised diamond
Ask someone to pick a color. Spell the color as you open the fortune teller vertically and then horizontally, alternating directions with each letter of the color.
Ask the game player to choose a number from 1 to 8 from the inside of the fortune teller. Move the fortune teller vertically and horizontally the number of times chosen by the player.
Ask the player to choose a number from inside the fortune teller. Lift that flap and read the fortune behind that number.
