How to Make a Carrot Nose for a Snowman

Kids and adults alike enjoy adorning their yards with snowmen in the winter. What starts as a palm-sized snowball becomes part of a snowman's body when you roll it in and pack it with more snow. But without his distinctive facial features, a snowman is just three balls of snow stacked on top of each other. The traditional snowman has a scarf, a hat, a corncob pipe, facial features made of chunks of charcoal and a pointed carrot nose.

Instructions

    • 1

Roll three snowballs into small, medium and large sizes. When stacked, the three snowballs should be approximately your height.

    • 2

Stack the medium snowball on top of the large one and the small one on top of the medium. The small ball on top will be the snowman's face.

    • 3

Embed two chunks of coal into the top snowball for the snowman's eyes. Use several more chunks of coal to give him a smile. Leave room between the eyes and the mouth for a nose.

    • 4

Stick your index finger into the space between the snowman's eyes and mouth. You are making a hole to stick his carrot nose into.

    • 5

Insert a carrot into the hole so the pointed end sticks out. Push the carrot as far back into the snowman's head as you like to adjust the depth of his nose and the distance it sticks out.
