Set Up
Have the children sit in a circle on the floor or on chairs close to each other if you want to pass the potato from one to another. If you want to increase the difficulty, space children out a bit to require them to toss the "potato" from one child to another.
The Potato
Use any basic object as the potato, not just a potato. You can use a ball, a fruit such as an orange or a lemon, or a small book. You can use whatever you have on hand.
Passing the Potato
Players must pass the potato from one to another in a circle. You cannot skip anyone or change the direction.
Music
Use a radio or MP3 player to play music to pass the potato to. You can have another child control the music or do it yourself while the children pass the potato. When the music stops, whoever has the potato is out of the game. Continue playing until you have one winner.
