How to Make Your Own Soda Game

Due to its fizzy nature, soda is not only fun to drink but also an entertaining item to use in games. While it's easy to head to the local store and purchase soda pop, think of the fun that can be had by making your own homemade blend of carbonated beverages. Perfect for a children's birthday party, making your own soda can be turned into an amusing game.

Instructions

    • 1

Remove the frozen juice concentrates from the freezer and allow the flavors to defrost. Open each container and line them on the table. Set out a row of cups, one for each child participating in the game. Place the bottle of plain soda water on the table as well.

    • 2

Write the flavors of each of the concentrates on a piece of paper. Flavors may be orange, lemonade, limeade, cranberry, apple, grape and fruit punch. Fold the papers and place them in a basket.

    • 3

Ask each child to stand in front of his cup. Have the first child roll the die. Once he has a number, he must draw that amount from the papers in the basket. The flavors on the papers indicate which concentrates must be added to his cup. For example, if the child rolls "4," he draws four pieces of paper from the basket. If those papers indicate "Apple," Lemonade," "Orange" and "Fruit Punch" he adds those concentrates to his cup. To keep the soda from becoming overly sweet, be sure to adjust the amount of concentrate that is added --- the ratio should be two tablespoons concentrate to 8 ounces seltzer water. In this case, he would add one-half of each of his four concentrates. Once he has completed his turn, have the child place the papers back in the basket.

Pour the seltzer water into each of the children's cups after everyone has had a turn. Have the children stir their beverage masterpieces prior to tasting.
