Kitten Games for Children

Kittens are adorable and playful little creatures. Thus, kittens often make ideal first pet choices for young boys and girls. If you have a young kitten lover in your household, kitten-themed games will provide hours of fun for your little one's next birthday party or play date with friends.
  1. Hungry Kitty Relay

    • Place several plastic bowls in a row on chairs or on the floor. Fill each bowl with milk and cereal. Create a starting line with tape several feet away from the bowls. Line children up behind the starting line. On the words "Go," each child must run to the bowl in front of them, eat all the cereal in the bowl using no hands, and run back to the starting line. The child who gets back to the starting line the fastest wins the relay.

Pin the Bow on the Kitty

    • Draw a picture of Hello Kitty without her bow on a large poster board. Draw hair bows on several different colors of construction paper and cut them out. Blindfold a child and spin her around a few times. Provide the child with a hair bow. The child must try to pin the bow as close as possible to the top of Hello Kitty's head. Continue playing until all the children receive a turn. The child who gets her bow the closest to the top of the kitty's head wins the game.

    Toss the Kitty's Yarn

    • Have the children sit in a large circle. Play fun, upbeat music on a radio and hand a ball of yarn to one of the children. Children must pass the yarn around the circle while the music plays. When the music stops, the child holding the ball of yarn is eliminated from the game and must remove himself from the circle. Continue playing until there is only one child left. Give a small prize to the winner.

    Kittens and Mice

    • Designate one child to be the kitten and the rest of the children will be the mice. Have the mice line up on one side of the room. The mice must run to the other side of the room while the kitten tries to catch them. Any mouse tagged by the kitten becomes a kitten too. As the mice continue to run back and forth from the kittens and get tagged, there will eventually be only one mouse. The child who is the last mouse wins the game.
