Pin the Tail on the Donkey
Prepare a picture of a donkey before the party without a tail. Look online for a suitable picture to print or draw or paint one yourself. Print or draw tails on card stock, making sure there is one for each player with his name written on it. The first player is blindfolded and spun around six times to disorientate him. He must then walk to where he thinks the picture is and pin his tail in place. This game provides a lot of laughter as the tail gets placed in funny positions. The player who places his tail closest to the correct position is the winner. This game can be adapted to match the theme of any party -- for example, for a jungle party you may wish to pin the tail on the tiger instead.
Blind Man's Bluff
Play this game in an open area and make sure there are no loose objects to trip on nearby. Choose one player to be "it" and cover her eyes with a blindfold. Spin her around five times while the other players run around to hide. When she finishes the fifth spin she yells "Stop!" and all the other players must freeze in place. She then calls out "Blind Man's..." and the other players must call "Bluff!" The seeker listens carefully to help her locate another player. Players can lean away from her as she feels for them, but must not move their feet. The first person located becomes "it" for the next round.
Spin Around Race
Play this game in teams of six. Have each team form a circle. One player is the captain and stands outside the circle, about 4 feet away. At the word "Go!" the first player from each team runs to the captain, who links arms with him and spins him around twice. The player then runs around the outside of the circle and back to his place before tagging the person to his left. Play continues until all the players have had a turn. The last player runs around the circle and tags the captain, who runs to the center of the circle to complete the race. The first team to finish is the winner.
Spin the Bottle
This version of the classic party game can be enjoyed by players of all ages. Have everyone sit in a circle and place an empty glass bottle in the center. One player spins the bottle. When the bottle stops, the player it is pointing at must answer a question or perform a dare. Prepare a pile of cards with questions and dares on them before the party. Make sure they are appropriate to the age of the guests.
